BRAZIL/PARAGUAY - Some recent rain beneficial for adding some soil moisture
in growing areas Paraguay and in southern growing areas of Brazil. Current
pattern of less in these areas allows more completion of spring crop
planting, but need for rain increases especially in Rio Grande do Sul.
Farther north in Brazil recent rain and more in the forecast keep growing
conditions favorable overall. Soybean planting done or nearly done in most
areas, with some planting left to be done in Rio Grande do Sul.
ARGENTINA - Some recent rain in most areas, and some additional rain in
southwestern growing areas this week, favorable for adding some soil
moisture. This additional rain in southwestern growing areas slows planting
and other fieldwork in short-term, while elsewhere weather favorable for
planting. Around 47% of the soybeans have been planted, compared to the 5
year average pace of 53%. Around 32% of the corn has been planted compared
to the 5 year average pace of 43%.
CHINA - In east-central China 1-5 day temps near to above normal and in
southeast near normal. 6-10 day temps near to a above normal. Most
precipitation light into 6-10 day, including in winter crop areas. --- EUROPE
- 1-5 day temps near to below normal most areas, some above normal in
southeast. 6-10 day temps near to below normal, some above normal southeast.
Greatest precip into early next week occurs from northwestern and west-
central areas into southeastern areas. --- AUSTRALIA - In the eastern wheat
areas of New South Wales and southeastern Queensland some additional rain
slows harvest in near future and keeps fields wet or saturated in some areas.
Harvest conditions better into next week southwestern part of eastern wheat
areas in western Victoria and southeastern South Australia, and also in
western wheat areas. --- FORMER SOVIET UNION - Additional precip beneficial
in western, central and northern winter crop areas and in some northern
areas some snow cover increasing. Precip lighter in southeastern areas. ---
SOUTH AFRICA - Recent rain and more in the forecast in the corn areas
beneficial of adding soil moisture in most corn areas, but does slow
completion of planting. --- NORTH AFRICA - Recent rain here beneficial for
adding or maintaining soil moisture, but has slowed planting. Planting
conditions improve with some dry days into early next week in western wheat
areas, however some southern wheat areas of Morocco need more rain. Some
additional rain slows planting in northeastern Algeria an northern Tunisia.
BRAZIL/PARAGUAY
High temperatures yest. upper 70s to low 90s,
with a few warmer readings in western areas. During the past 24 hours
scattered showers and t-storms occurred from northern Mato Grosso do Sul,
southern Goias and northern Minas Gerais. Not all locations had rain with
amounts of 0.25-1.00" reported along with some lighter and a few heavier.
Farther south most areas were dry.
In main growing areas of Paraguay and in southern growing areas of Brazil
from southern Mato Grosso do Sul and western Sao Paulo southward rain light
and scattered into early next week with some 0.05-0.50" amounts and isolated
heavier. Farther north rain more frequent and 5 day amounts 0.50-2.00". 6-
10 day rainfall near to below normal in about the southern 1/3 of this
region, near to above normal farther north. 11-15 day rainfall near to below
normal southern areas near to above normal farther north. Some recent rain
beneficial for adding some soil moisture in growing areas Paraguay and in
southern growing areas of Brazil. Current pattern of less in these areas
allows more completion of spring crop planting, but need for rain increases

to below normal. Some recent rain in most areas, and some additional rain in

moisture. This additional rain in southwestern growing areas slows planting
and other fieldwork in short-term, while elsewhere weather favorable for

During the past 24 hours some 0.25-1.00"
rainfall common in most wheat areas along with some lighter and a few heavier
amounts. Rain lighter overall in southern wheat areas of Morocco. Rain
chances continue in east next few days with some additional 0.05-0.50"
amounts, drier farther west. 6-10 day rainfall near to below normal with
only spotty heavier amounts. Recent rain here beneficial for adding or
maintaining soil moisture, but has slowed planting. Planting conditions
improve with some dry days into early next week in western wheat areas,
however some southern wheat areas of Morocco need more rain. Some additional
rain slows planting in northeastern Algeria an northern Tunisia.

During the past 24 hour most precip
scattered and light in winter crop areas. Into early next week some
additional 0.05-0.50" precip amounts in most areas with a few heavier. Some
falls as snow in northern areas. Precip farther southeast light. 6-10 day
precip near to above normal west and near to below normal central and east.
Additional precip beneficial in western, central and northern winter crop
areas and in some northern areas some snow cover increasing. Precip lighter
in southeastern areas.

During the past 24 hours most rainfall light in
corn areas, only isolated amounts over 0.25" reported. Rain chances forecast
in the short term with 0.50-2.00" amounts. 6-10 day rainfall near to above
normal. Recent rain and more in the forecast in the corn areas beneficial of
adding soil moisture in most areas, but does slow completion of planting.
AUSTRALIA
During the past 24 hours it was dry in most western
wheat areas, with some spotty light showers in eastern wheat areas. Any rain
in the near term light in western wheat areas and in the eastern wheat areas
in southeastern South Australia and western Victoria. Additional 0.10-0.75"
rainfall in rest of eastern wheat areas. Similar trend for 6-10 day rainfall.
In the eastern wheat areas of New South Wales and southeastern Queensland
some additional rain slows harvest in near future and keeps fields wet or
saturated in some areas. Harvest conditions better into next week
southwestern part of eastern wheat areas in western Victoria and southeastern
South Australia, and also in western wheat areas.
